Mrs India 2017 Finalist Deepti Mahat Katoch
- What Motivates you to get out of your bed in the morning ?
I wake up every morning imagining what unique thing I am going to do today. Different tasks on each day and the urge to break monotonous life pushes me out of the bed. Cherry on the top is the smile and hug of my two loving daughters that acts as an energy booster and keeps me active throughout the day.
- Your most memorable moment with Mrs India 2017?
Undoubtedly, the moment when I was crowned Mrs India North 2017 has been the most memorable moment as well as the most cherished dream-come-true moment of my life. Mrs India 2017 has played a significant role in bringing me closer to many ladies who are passionate about making their mark in this world. The four days event has left life time loving memories in my heart and even words would fall short of the bonding I have made with my co-contestants.
- If you can be swap a role of one person from Family who that would be and why?
If it could be possible, I would prefer to role swap with my mother. She is my role model and I have not seen any other person like her. She is an epitome of altruism who has always selflessly looked after the whole family and even strangers. If I could swap the role, I would want my mother to enjoy life for herself and do things that she really wants to do rather than all the time focussing on providing comforts to others. I would carry out her responsibilities and would want her to have fun, spend time with her closed ones, go shopping and enjoy her life.
- What do you do when you are not working ?
Honestly, there is no time when women are not working; even when they are sleeping (or trying to sleep) their mind continues to work on the things to be done the next day. In my case, apart from office, children and home, if there is any free time, I spend it on organising various events for children and mothers. This includes get together, workshops, excursions, etc. I am an ardent supporter of promoting creativity, cleanliness, and self discovery.
- How would you describe Yourself in one Word ? And Why ?
To sum up myself in one word, I am a ‘Believer’ – a believer of God, goodness, karma, purity, and love. I have always been aware of my capabilities, of the positive vibes that people around me radiate, of the blind faith in doing good, and of the trust that God is always with me. I dream of many things for myself , my daughters, family & friends and I keep a strong faith that good deeds and pure thoughts actually act as catalyst in achieving those dreams.
- Who inspires you and why ?
In my life, there are many people who have inspired me – my parents, husband, teachers, and friends. However, the endless and supreme source of inspiration is the belief in God. I always feel some kind of incredible force around me that guides me towards the right path.
- What is your favorite Quote and why ?
My favourite quote is by Mahatma Gandhi: ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’. I think that by simply pointing out the faults in the system, by expecting somebody to bring changes and by mere preaching, no modification can be done. If I want to change the way people think about women, if I want to restructure the gender system of our society, I need to first prove myself as that woman who can be the role model for others and to whom other women can relate. By preaching people to clean their surroundings or by propagating good karma is incomplete unless I do it myself. One needs to take the lead and try best to bring positive changes in the world. Sow the seeds of generosity and nobility wherever you go.
- What is Your Favorite Outfit ?
I feel most comfortable in shorts and T-shirt at home. For formal occasions, I prefer traditional wear saree or gowns.
- If your want to go on Vacation what would be your plan
I am a beach lover and mountain girl. I love to travel and have explored various parts of India and Europe. For me, Norway and Sweden are the best places for vacation since these places are best of both worlds – sea and mountains. In India, I like Himachal Pradesh and Goa. My idea of vacation is lots of relaxation, spa, exploring the place as a native and clicking numerous photographs as memories.
- What is your spiritual practice
My idea of spirituality is to believe in God, doing good deeds, and spreading love & positivity wherever I go. Being spiritual gives me inner strength and inner peace. It gets reflected in my conduct, thoughts and actions. I believe that we all are connected to each other somehow and spirituality keeps the balance in this world.
